Scouting the trails at Dead Branch State Forest in Chesterfield, no longer maintained by DCR but some good trails here including big boulder fields and the beautiful dark waters on the Dead Branch of the Westfield River.  We parked at the roadside pull off on South Street just after the Krug Sugarbush.
