Sunday our special guest was Martha from Southwick who took us on a birding walk at Round Top Hill, a high elevation forest in Chester including our very own Park Knox Acres hiking trails on Round Hill Road. Armed with our bird apps and binoculars we took tally of birds we found in the bushes, trees and even the ground among the giant mountain laurel.  Turkey Vulture, yellow bellied sapsuckers, hairy woodpecker, eastern wood-peewee, great crested flycather, yellow throated vireo, blue Jay, black capped chickadee, Grey catbird, veery, wood thrush, American goldfinch, chipping sparrow, oven bird, black and white warblers, american redstart, magnolia warbler, blackburnian warbler, and black throated blue warblers! We look forward to work on future visits for this hot spot with Martha documenting nature and more birding special events!
