This past winter we spent alot of time hiking and tracking Unkamit’s Path which is a long distance foot path from Bush Notch in Westfield at the New England Trail connecting with the Appalachian Trail in Washington. This same trail (in sections) for the last ten plus years has been a project called the Highlands Footpath, to officially blaze and map sections and publisize it. Originally it was white blazed by John Murphy and Henry Warchol of Westfield State College. This is section #2 in Becket from Pleasant Street to Bancroft. Look out for a new and improved section on our website devoted to this trail. Thank you to the large group of volunteers working on this project!
