Foundation of a large pre-1830 water-powered mill (apparently a sawmill) on Avery Brook, on or near Original Proprietor Lot 87. We followed the brook for about 800 feet and then spotted the enormous mill wall, crossing avery brook we came across a wheel, the piers for the mill wheel still stands, as well as the cobble floor of the mill in the middle of the brook!!

Flash Hike Saturday at Conway State Forest. Paulette showed us the trails here, grab the guide from www.townofconway.com to visit the landmarks. Trails are not blazed, these are the old roads where the town center once stood. Also, no cell service so download and print your maps! Easy hiking on rolling hills in a beautiful forest with some old growth trees. Conway State Forest is a woodland DCR State Forest.
