Alander Mountain in Mount Washington(town) hiked up from Mount Washington State Forest headquarters on West Street 6 miles up and back where we connected with the Taconic Trail. Outstanding views of the Catskills and Albany, Mt. Frissel, Brace Mountain and behind us Mt. Everett. All research stated this is the best 360^ view in the Berkshires. They were right. Trail is easy 1.5 miles then rocky and steep rest of the way. Alander shelter and primitive campground, an old mill, stone walls and waterfall is along the trail. Very wet until you reach the Taconic. This is one of the oldest mountain ranges at 400 million years old.
