Group hike Saturday in the mist of the high elevation forest, surreal with giant hemlock and moss. Guilder Pond is a picturesque, undeveloped 16-acre body of water located on the shoulder of Mount Everett in Mount Everett State Reservation in Mount Washington, Massachusetts. At an elevation of 2,048 feet, it is the second-highest pond in the Berkshires. Alec Gillman, DCR Interpretive Coordinator narrated the one mile loop with words from Hitchcock about its unique silvery schist and the first bold settlers who braved its wild wilderness.
