We had a Super exciting day Thursday at the Chester Granite and Polishing Works  I had asked John Marcoulier to come weld the saw blade for us back in April.  It would move when the wind blew and we were afraid we would loose it,  today he came.  Leonard Alexander who was the last person to weld the saw blade in 1946 also came from Otis. He is 100 years old.  What a great guy! He wants to see new timbers for the carriage, he was honored to be there today and I was smiling ear to ear.  I want to personally thank John for taking time out of his busy day and donating his time and materials to help the Western Mass Hilltown Hikers keep history alive!! Many more improvements to come at the Chester Granite Saw, thank you all for your support!
