It was a hot and wild weekend, so we dropped the boats in the Westfield River Friday morning to start the day with a beautiful cool down at Crescent Mills/Texon.  We found the dam here a bit damaged causing the mill pond water levels to drop with a bit of whitewater on the narrow sections.  A big beautiful bald eagle kept us company, we also jumped out and took the portage used by the Westfield River Wildwater Races to get past the dam to see the original stone dam structure built on top of the amazing falls here.  Nothing like seeing the Hilltowns from the Wild and Scenic Westfield!
