The Knightville Floodplain in Huntington, built to stop the downstream flooding of the villages of Huntington,  Russell and Westfield…this week in a rare summer occurrence the dam held back water from the heavy rains and the floodplain filled up.  This hiking trip was right before the flooding.  Great hiking here on both sides of the East Branch of the Westfield River.
