GRANITE QUARRY FOUND! In Becket, on part of the Otis State Forest there is a small tract of public land that rides the Mass Turnpike at the edge of the Sherwood Forest housing community that holds more granite industry history. We had seen this area on lidar and researching further following the granite vein of lost quarries proved to be successful in finding yet another important piece of hilltown history. Christened the Robin Hood Granite Quarry as no name nor historical facts could be found.
