The most intact part of the Huckleberry Trolley Line that we have hiked is in Becket off George Carter Road. Here the power line right of way did not use the existing electric street railway route and its heavily shaded making for excellent preservation in its natural state. Poles, with some partially standing with most cables and apparatus still attached. Most importantly, wooden insulators still remain. Amazing, since this line was built in the beginning of the 1900’s! As we hiked in the large cut was drilled thru the rock and the grout piles are up high on the right, almost all poles in this cut section remain, as this section winds its way to Lee it does get intersected by the Turnpike.
