Round Top Hill, highest point in Hampden County, group hike. We had to forgo the steep more expert, Unkamit’s Path Section (white blaze) climb up to the summit from Round Hill Road because of the slick conditions so our hike was up the fire road trail (orange blaze) to the summit where we viewed the benchmarks, hiked the new blue summit loop with almost 360 degree views of Hampden, Hampshire and Berkshire County. Round Top Hill is a unique Hophornbeam forest and is filled with spring flowers, moose, bobcat, bear, deer and more. This land was graciously donated by the Freedburg Family to Hilltown Land Trust for all to enjoy. Fresh blazing here on the trails and the new Easterly lookout is spectacular!
