A seven month son of Henry B. and Hannah Wadham was buried on a section of the George Millard Road in Blandford which has since been discontinued. The inscription on the stone reads: “Lie here sweet babe And take thy rest God called thee home When he thought best.” Sadly, after searching for it we heard news that the stone had been stolen/destroyed. Blandford holds rich family Hilltown History. The first settler turnpike passed near here, winding its way over and down hills, not a favorite for early travelers however there were a plentitude of taverns to stop and rest at like Pixley’s and Scott’s, where much rest was taken after Blandford’s drink!
