Flash hiking Friday in Blandford on Old Amos Case Road, where present day Otis Tolland Road turns to dirt and pavement goes to Schoolhouse Road in Tolland. This remote section of Southern Blandford is just one mile from Otis Reservoir. Flat and swampy and also the snowmobile route 95 (not a good idea to hike on weekends) passes through the old settler roads, schools and cellar holes here; Rock House, Swamp, and Shephard Roads where Otis, Tolland and Granville meet. Tolland State Forest trails are here as well including Lair Mountain. The building of Cobble Mountain Reservoir discontinued use of these old roads, making travel lengthy and mountainous.
