Paddling the Wild and Scenic Westfield River below Salmon Falls in Russell.  The river offers up over 50 miles of paddling from the upper Hilltowns to Robinson State Park with many portages to paddle small deeper sections when the water is low, the best time to do longer sections is after heavy rainfall and early spring since there are no scheduled dam releases.
