Not only did we hike the great trails at the Berkshire National Fish Hatchery in New Marlborough but we also got the full tour of the Hatchery operations.  We took park in the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area event Saturday to learn more about what they do here.

The Berkshire National Fish Hatchery is a cold-water aquaculture facility, the primary mission is supporting the restoration of lake trout populations in the Lower Great Lakes by supplying lake trout eggs to other federal hatcheries and rearing native brook trout for stocking in local waterways to support recreational fishing and educational programs.
