Some beautiful views along Rockwell Road including the Adams Overlook on our Sunday hike to the summit!

Mount Greylock flash hike to the summit on the Cheshire Harbor Trail, the most gradual climbing trail at Mount Greylock State Reservation. We parked at the Gould Trailhead taking the blue blazed Brookside Trail in the middle of the lot along Pecks Brook then switchbacking up to connect to the Cheshire Harbor Trail. 2/3rds of the way this trail is a graveled old road. At the junction of old Adams Road the trail turns rocky, passed the cut off to Peck’s Falls on the right (shorter option) and continued to Rockwell Road. Crossing the road directly to the Appalachian Trail to the summit. We took Rockwell Road down from the summit to catch the great views at the Adams Overlook then back into the woods at the Gould Trailhead. About 1 mile down, we took the spur to Pecks Shelter and Waterfall then returned to follow Gould back to the parking lot. Just about an 8 mile loop, 2,100 feet of elevation gain, Best climbing trail without that much effort for the average hiker on Mount Greylock State Reservation !
