Steep Bank Brook Picnic Area and Dam (1934-6) This day-use area, located on the west side of the Westfield River behind the bathhouse, today its called the Lost Picnic Area Trail. A 1 mile loop through large white pine, the old stairs getting you across Steep Bank Brook are original to the CCC. The entire area is completely grown in with forest but you can see the firepits in the woods, once an open area for picnicking.

Exploring the trails at Windsor State Forest that are still in existence. The rangers are in the process of finding the old trails here, grown over from when this State Forest was closed and bringing it back to life.

Windsor State Forest, newly re-opened 1,626 acres of heavily wooded hilly land with a small section in Savoy.
