History on old Huntington Road in Blandford at the McQulen Homestead. This road, now discontinued at Haight Road goes directly to the Huntington Post Office. It becomes discontinued at the top of Blandford Hill Road in Huntington at the other end. We hike from point to point in less time than it takes to drive the modern roads point to point. This ridge top village changed hands to Russell for the purpose of creating their watershed, where all inhabitants had their land taken by eminent domain. The Huckleberry Trolley Line also runs thru here with great hiking.
