Getting out to hike where we could see the ground we headed for Bear Hole Reservoir on the Westfield/West Springfield line taking the New England Trail in to the loop trail at the Bear Hole Reservoir. We parked at Bush Notch at the end of Old Holyoke Road where section 3 of the NET crosses. Built in 1908 for a water source, the Reservoir was hard hit in 1955 during hurricane Diane and let go. Many trails here including mountain bike trails. Historical info at https://www.wsenvironmentalcommittee.org/history-photos.html
