Mineral Hills Conservation Area managed by Kestrel Land Trust in Westhampton/ Northampton. This was an old gravel quarry now conserved to bring back its natural habitat which evidently includes a giant black snake! BUT don’t let that deter you from hiking here, trails are amazingly blazed and marked with signage including numbers which correspond with the map. The quarry loop gets you on the ledges with mountain views, the summit trail offers up wonderful 360 views when the leaves are down. There are bridges, stream crossings and more. Also, here you find a section of the Northampton 1 Trail network as a connector. Two parking areas: 329 Turkey Hill Rd and 83 Sylvester Hamilton Rd. Great place, Five stars!
