Some of the remains left….the Chester Granite Works was a staple in Chester during the quarry era, here near the railstation the granite was brought down to the village via the Chester and Becket Railroad from Becket to work and polish the stone. Gravestones were also made here. This is a dust collector and remains of a derrick and winches. After this location was outgrown and later burned another much larger plant was constructed across from the Roundhouse.
