Turtle Bend Mountain in Russell is the only Mountain that sits in the middle of the Westfield River Valley, because of that it is rich in rock and minerals. My old daily go to as I lived at Turtle Bend, also a famous spot during the Westfield River canoe races, old Native American land also. This was once called Tuttle Mountain, folklore has it Tuttle hung himself here hence the name change suddenly on the maps, also believed to possibly be a typo. Located at the foot of Holiday Hill and Mount Shatterack. #hikethehilltowns with the #westernmasshilltownhikers #russellma
