Russ hiked ten miles from the Littleville Lake boat launch following stone walls to old cellar holes. One thing you can sure of, homesteads always had a road or cart path. Going in from the Huntington side, the old atlas shows Howard Road once connected Goss Hill Road in Huntington to South Worthington Road in Chester. This road was abandoned after the dam was built in late 1964. The views from Little Canada Hill are beautiful looking towards Chesterfield. The memorial site for “gramps” who was grading this road and went over the edge. The old frost heaves sign is an understatement. You need GPS for this one if you dont know the area. #hilltownhistory will never be forgotten.
