Chester’s Mineral Collection.
The Hulda Burdick mineral collection is located at the Hamilton Memorial Library in the back room.  Tammy and the librarians are proud to call the library home to the collection which is viewable by appointment and during special events.  This collection was donated to the library by Hulda Burdick, who worked for Dr. Heman Lucas, founder of the emery business in Chester.  Dr. Lucas had his own mineral collection which has since disappeared.
The Hamilton Memorial Library is named in honor of Frank Hamilton, who established an emery mill in Chester in 1904. Not only are there specimens of all Chester minerals but from all over the world including dinosaur tracks!
