Land monitoring with Hilltown Land Trust ‘s Mariel! Round Top Hill Trail, the highest point in Hampden County, Peak Bagger’s love it! Monitoring is done each year to check all boundaries, use of the land and to make sure the land upholds it’s conservation restriction. Western Mass Hilltown Hikers maintains the trails here with two parking spots with two trailheads which connect. Big News! A new parking area at the Fire Road kiosk is in the works. Hike this trail to find all 5 geodetic markers at the unique summit, geologic features, views East to Blandford and Russell over the Chester Blandford State Forest, and sign the log book at the grassy summit. This property abuts Chester Blandford State Forest and our very own Park Knox Acres to make the complete trail connection through the Town of Chester.
