Unkamit’s Path Section 7 (white blaze) on Tekoa Mountain hiking west to east.  Unkamit’s Path is the old Native American footpath running west from Bush Notch in Westfield on the New England Trail to the East connecting with the Appalachian Trail in October Mountain State Forest, the West/East Hilltown long distance trail totals 44 1/2 miles. Originally blazed by John Murphy and Henry Warchol from Westfield State College back in the early 1960’s. Parking along Carrington Road in Russell at the gaurdrail blazed white next to Station Road. Unkamit’s Path runs across both Shatterack and Tekoa Ridge coming out in Westfield at Reservoir Road. Please respect our open spaces and leave no trace.
