From the 360 cam. One of the prettiest hikes this summer was at Canoe Meadows in Pittsfield. Tucked in between the suburbs, the real feel here is nature believe it or not. A Mass Audubon property (no dogs) with Sackett Brook running thru the middle you have several trails to choose from. We started out from the kiosk on Holmes Road right next to the Housatonic River and took the carriage road (theres history here too), and continued on the outside loop of Wolf Trail, Owl Trail and back on the carriage road. Each trail is very different starting with fields then a great swamp, extensive boardwalks and benches. We then ventured off on the Sacred Way Trail hiking by Oxbow Pond and along the Hoosatonic. Highly recommended and I plan to hike this one again, over four miles of loops to choose from.
