The section of the Appalachian Trail that runs from Jerusalem Road in Tyringham at the cow pasture to Main Road in the Tyringham Valley has always been one of my favorites! Adventure thru grazing cows, boardwalks and a flood plain of the Housatonic River (choose your time of year wisely). Being it a wet summer we hiked thru calf deep water in places! The boardwalks thru the swampy areas are tremendous and be sure to catch the wildflowers in spring here! You can park at the Tyringham Cobble trailhead which connects to the AT after the sandstone bunny. We came in this way and the walked Main Road back to make a loop stopping at the cemetery on the way back. A three mile loop.
