Tekoa Mountain in Russell holds many caves. These were no doubt used by the Native American people who populated the Tekoa and Shatterack mountain ranges. Several of these caves have been documented in caving guides and some hard to find books, namely the Bent Birch Cave. This tallus cave is forty nine feet deep. There is a five foot drop into the first of two rooms. The entrance is not at ground level. Tekoa Mountain is divided into sections; South and North cirque, midle, east and south cliffs.
