Chester CCC camp S-64. DCR Interpretive Coordinators Alec Gillman and Mike Whalen were at Chester On Track XXXIII Saturday dressed in CCC attire and had some historic Chester State Forest memorabilia with them showcasing the Chester CCC Camp S-64 113 that was located where Bannish Lumber is now. They also had photos of when Boulder Park was built by the CCC in 1933. Alec demonstrated the “Indian Can” used to put out forest fires. They also brought the actual tools that the CCC Boys used. We also signed the Stewardship Pledge, because we love and respect our State Forests!
