We ventured out for a six mile loop at John Drummond Kennedy Park in Lenox hik8ng history to the Aspinwall Hotel ruins. Parking at the Lenox DPW we headed up the Kennedy Trail to the stables then passing the garage onto Coakley to the ruins for the great lookout where the hotel was located, the workers dorms and onto Redneck trail intersecting back on Coakley passing Edward Woosley’s 1850 residence, one of the first in the area. We continued on to Pondside, Balance Rock climbing it of course, to Stonehenge where the water tanks were for Aspinwall, back on to Coakley then Weaver Olympics and Deer Run. Each trail here is unique and the signage is exceptional. There are many trails so take a map with you, the dogs loved it! Catch our group hike here February 25th. Drone footage by Paddy Sullivan.
