Schoolhouse Reservoir just one of eleven bodies of water within October Mountain State Forest, at 16,500 acres the largest State Park in Massachusetts. The dam was built in 1985 and is 350 feet long. Follow County Road all the way in to gate 9. Before the mid-1980s the shallow valley was a forested area of woods and wetlands that sheltered Washington Mountain Brook. Schoolhouse Reservoir, at an elevation of about 1,700 feet is located at 42°20.56’N 73°11.35’W, Schoolhouse No 2 Road, Washington. Great paddling here!
