A BIG thank you to Westfield Parks and Recreation Committee for presenting us with a certificate of appreciation for our work at Tekoa Park! Front page of the Westfield News today, Monday night Karen and I were on the agenda to give our updates on cleaning up Tekoa Park and re-opening the blue blazed trail. We are currently fundraising to support the fund to build and install a kiosk with an informational insert which will include the history! On our last trip out, we cleaned up a downed tree and made a loop at the summit making this trail an in and back for now. In the spring we will revisit the white blaze trail and add this route to the trail network. Special thank you to Amy for the great story and GPS help, Heather, Tom, Jim, Greg, Nick and everyone who came with loppers and their input on how this park from the 1800’s could be brought back to life! A wonderful asset for the people of Westfield and Russell!
