Hiking Mount Tom Saturday from Easthampton on the New England Trail passing by the history here going back to the mid 1800’s one of several mountain resorts built atop the mountain at Mount Tom summit, all which burned. The original pillars of house #1 and #2 still stand and the present day radio towers now exist. The water retention pond for water supply was located just down the slope, pump house still standing near the Tote Trail. Along the trail notice the names carved into the rock from the mid 1800’s, the walk along the ridge offers up breathtaking views to the West of the Berkshire Hills! www.lostnewengland.com
