Hiking Saturday early morning in honor of the Littleville Fair at Dayville in Chester. The trail goes thru a meadow which once was homes, farms and Fisk cemetery then up along the mountain ridge following Littleville Lake. Before the dam was built and homes were taken by eminent domain the villages of Dayville and Littleville flourished. This side of the lake is the dam maintenance road, parking for the Dayville Boat launch is here as well. Take this trail four miles to Littleville Dam in Huntington passing Still Brook and crossing old Kyle Road. We took an old cart road dropping us steeply back down for a two miler which loops by the stone wall back to the parking lot. Trail is not blazed so use gps and keep the lake in your sights. Trail is obvious and has rolling hills. A great paddle afterwards!
