Old Tekoa Road was the route from Russell Road in Montgomery over the mountain to Pochassic Hills in Westfield.  The area is now known as Moose Meadow and is one of our favorite hiking destinations within the Tekoa Wildlife Area.  This old road has two bridges which still stand, one being over lower Moose Meadow Brook.  The yellow blaze trail here takes hikers up to the rocky cliffs of Tekoa Mountain the least steep and technical way up the backside of Tekoa Mountain.  This bridge amazingly has wood trusses, its been repaired way back when (50’s?), its stone construction is intact and is truly a sight to see and a part of Hilltown History.
