A mystery to solve. Hiking in Peru State Forest on old roads we went for a short trip down Bradshaw Road from Curtin Road following it just over into Worthington as Tom Hoffman reported finding a cemetery there, shown on the old maps across from the Luther Granger/Frissell homestead. We sent Russ into the woods to hike parallel to us on the road…we came to a large cellar hole with several barns, no graves in sight. Where the old maps showed a cemetery we found a mounded square, stone lined on three sides only. No graves, no fieldstones. A drill cut rock in front, lots of unbarbed wire along the old road. We were skeptical, could it be a barn foundation? Where are the graves? We reached out to Worthington Historical and they are also interested in finding these graves…lidar courtesy of Hoffman.
