Hunger Mountain in Monterey is a small cobble, part of Beartown State Forest which sits between Hupi and Mt Hunger Road over Lake Garfield. Trails are not blazed, cairns mark them. Parking and signage on Hupi Road. The summit at just 1820 feet offered up views of the Taconic Crest and much further to the snow covered catskills, surprisingly spectacular long views here! Beaver Pond on the way back. OnXhunt app shows the trails here. Two lookouts at the summit but I think we missed a 3rd overlooking the lake. This place is surrounded by homes and 2 roads so its not too difficult. Would definitely hike this again, wow! #montereyma
