The spectacular Memorial Loop atop the H. Newman Marsh Trail in Chester.

Friday Flash Hike Five Miler at Chester Blandford State Forest #DCR from the lesser used entrance from Buelah Land Road in Blandford. Winter parking is at the very end of the rd, all other seasons drive in to the area where the Dynamite Box trail meets up with Buelah Land. This area was once a popular recreation area including a lake for fishing. We hiked up Beulah to Observation Hill, great views on both as we were at approx. 1600 ft plus at Green Hill. We then took a right onto Mica Mine Road and visited the mine. Added a few more miles after the mine by heading on the Memorial Loop with fantastic views of the Westfield River Valley both West and East for a total of 7 miles. Please note there are several ups and downs on this hike, but its a much easier way to get atop the H Newman Marsh lookouts!
