The Chester Coal Tower and Roundhouse. The coal bins can still be visible, these buildings still stand today as a tribute to Railroad History.

My grandparents lived in the last house on the left side of Maple Ave.in Chester. Me and my siblings played on the railroad tracks right above their house. Could that be the same rail line that is now being restored? In the late 50’s and early 60’s, the trains were running freight. I am definitely interested in keeping up with what’s going on with the restoration.
where you grew up is the Boston and Albany Rail which is still there today and still used daily. The Chester Round House is located just past the Chester Center. It has been privately owned for years and the owners have not done any work on it. The goal of the Chester Railway Museum is to hopefully have it donated and then move on to possible restoration. That would be a dream come true!
