Last nights presentation by Melissa Hamm and Peter Sparks at the Blandford Historical Society on Cobble Mountain Reservoir was fascinating. Melissa has written a book about her ancestors who lived in “smokey hollow” Blandford. A large community was wiped out here when Springfield Water built the Cobble Mountain Reservoir. Peter Sparks of the Blandford Cemetery Commission discussed and presented photos of the Warfield Cemetery, just one of three cemeteries UNACCESSIBLE, South Street Cemetery was moved and is underwater, Sizer and Warfield cemeteries remain with no public access! Over 150 properties were taken by eminent domain, families displaced, and this entire area is OFF LIMITS to the public!! Tell our senators and state reps WE WANT IT REOPENED!

Bill H2992 is still alive in the Massachusetts House, please send your emails of support to re-open Cobble Mountain Reservoir Road to passive recreation to Senator Paul Mark and Nicholas Boldyga!
