Tekoa Park in Russell just a half mile climb with 450 feet of elevation gain on the newly renewed blue trail makes for some technical hiking to pitch pine forest real quick! Views of Tekoa Mountain from Homer’s Lookout where a fire tower once stood.  We took this park on as a project with Westfield Park and Rec two years ago to clean up and re-open it.  This Spring, we will take things up a notch by renewing some of the old Mountain bike trails here and possibly some rock climbing walls.  It even has a designated parking area across from the trailhead on Route 20.  A beautiful gem at the base of Russell Mountain!
