Saturday’s hike took us to the Chesterfield Gorge for 6.25 miles on the East Branch Trail with snowshoes, skis and boots in sub zero windchills, the sun was out and the river was flowing. The ice blocks along the water were enormous, the trees and boulders freshly snow covered and the small springs still flowing for dog water. At mile marker 3, we visited Bakers Dam which still partially stands today with its undershot wheel configuration after being ravaged by floods. Miles of trails here for all snowshoes including snowmobiling!
