The brick sidewalk you see in the Chester Common Table parking lot on Main Street once led to the Chester Depot, the station was moved across the tracks.  Main Street once continued straight over the tracks, now it bears right and under the tracks. Because of safety concerns, in the early 1900’s the roads that went over railroad tracks were changed to over or under passes, as you can see folks got hit by trains quite often.
