Guilder Pond is the second highest pond in Massachusetts at 2,048 feet. This 1 mile, rugged loop circumnavigates the pond which features blooming mountain laurel and azalea in the spring and a reflected palette of foliage in the fall. In the summer hikers enjoy sunning on the rock shoal on the eastern side. A hike and paddle after is a wonderful day here with views of Mount Everett. In winter, the gate is closed at East Street adding 2 miles to your spoon loop. Photos from our late September hike here at Mount Everett State Forest.
