Just over the Mass state line in Copake Falls we hiked a section heading South on the South Taconic Trail starting at the Bash Bish parking lot on the NY side, the trail crosses route 344 here. Follow the blazes over a bridge to a camping bathhouse where the trail starts climbing for 800 feet of elevation to the summit of Bash Bish Mountain where the pitch pine and long views West await you.  Only one steep mile and we reached amazing views of the Taconic Lookout!
