Brace Mountain is the peak of a ridge in the southern Taconic Mountains, near the tripoint of New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Its 2,311-foot main summit is located in New York; it is the highest point in Dutchess County. We hiked Frissell, Round and Brace on this day also getting to the Tri-State Marker.  Some of us took the easier going trail to Brace from Mt. Washington Road in Mt. Riga State Forest up to the South Taconic Trail making a 4 mile in and back to the top of the world! Impressive 360 degree views of Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York!
