A real treat! Bob Rando DCR Interpretive Coordinator and Alec Gilman joined us for our June Group Hike at Pittsfield State Forest Saturday. The azaleas were a week past peak, yet still fragrant. Bob took us on a 4.3 mile mountain top journey learning about William Berry and how Berry Hill was once thriving farmland. We continued to Berry Pond, took the Skyline Trail to Tilden Swamp then the highest point in the state forest, Pine Hill and over to the great beaver dam at Tilden looping back to our amazing view on Berry Hill where we started our journey.
