Driving into Chester on Route 20 heading West takes you over the abandoned Chester and Becket Railroad, in fact that part of the State Highway overpass was specially built in order to keep the train running to the Becket Quarry from Chester diverting a road crossing. All that work and no train ever passed under it as the Railroad was abandoned shortly after. See the Chester and Becket Railtrail on Hampden Street and hike Hilltown History!
